VOIP MESSENGER · VOICE AND MESSAGING
Your next conversation starts with a friend.
Unique nicknames make it easy to find each other. After accepting a friend request, you can start a direct conversation.
Send and accept a friend request
- Open Friends from the first button in the server bar.
- Choose Add friend, enter the person’s unique nickname and send the request. Nicknames are not case-sensitive.
- The other person opens Requests and chooses Accept. You can see your pending outgoing requests under Sent.
- Open the friend in your conversations list or use the direct-message button to start chatting. On a phone, open navigation to reach this list.
Messages that feel like you
Press Enter to send and Shift + Enter for a new line. The emoji button opens a picker, and common typed smileys are displayed as emoji. Message history is available when you return.
In Settings, choose a chat text size from 12 to 24 pixels and preview it before saving. The preference is stored on your device and applies to messages and the composer.
Your recent conversation and unsent drafts are remembered locally. Removing a friendship does not delete the existing direct-message history.
Notifications and profile pictures
A notification sound plays for new messages from other people, not your own messages or old history. Muting sound also silences these notifications.
Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP profile picture in Settings, up to 4 MB and 4096 × 4096 pixels. It appears beside your nickname in conversations and member lists.
